BACKGROUND
During their recent meeting on February 13, the Board of Trustees decided to call a bond election scheduled for May 3, 2025. This proposed bond package amounts to $7.5 million.
The District Planning Committee, composed of leadership, staff, and professional advisors, has held several meetings over the past seven months to assess and prioritize potential bond projects for our school district. This effort is part of a process initiated by the district administration following the 2024 bond election. Through careful analysis of various scenarios, including the construction of new facilities and the renovation of existing ones, along with a thorough examination of associated costs and feedback from our community survey, we are now prepared to present these proposals to our voters. The bonds will directly fund the construction of the following projects:
The bond package is divided into two key propositions:
Proposition A: $6.58 Million
-
Renovations at Rotan High School
-
Installation of Security Vestibules
-
Renovations for ADA Compliance
-
Updates to Administrative Facilities
-
Upgrades to HVAC Systems
-
Renovation and Expansion of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Facilities
-
Renovations to the Auditorium for use by student curricular and U.I.L programs
Proposition B: $920,000
-
Acquisition of Teacher Housing
In the coming weeks, we will unveil a dedicated website providing comprehensive information about the proposed projects, their potential tax implications, an interactive tax calculator, and details regarding the voting process. We will also host town hall meetings to foster community engagement and open dialogue about these proposals.
We strongly encourage everyone to register to vote and participate in this election. Please note that the voter registration deadline is April 3, and early voting is available from April 22 to April 29.
